AI Tools
Thoughtfully Integrated

AI is part of the SRDS curriculum — used critically and responsibly. The tech team supports teachers in designing AI-forward lessons within policy.

ChatGPT Claude Gemini Policy-guided
SRDS AI Policy

You set the tone in your classroom. Here's what our policy says — and what it means in practice.

⚖️
Ethics & Accountability
AI may not be used to promote violence, hate, or discrimination. Plagiarism via AI — including rephrasing others' work — is treated the same as academic dishonesty.
🔒
Privacy & Security
Students must never enter personal, identifying, or sensitive information into AI tools. AI prompts should be treated as semi-public — most platforms retain user data.
Appropriate Use
AI may be used only when you explicitly permit it — in your syllabus or assignment description. You retain full authority over AI use in your classroom.
🔍
Verify Everything
AI is not always accurate. Students are responsible for fact-checking AI output with reliable sources. Submitting incorrect AI content carries academic consequences.
📣
Disclosure Required
When students use AI, they must disclose it clearly in their work. If asked, they must identify which sections used AI. Failure to disclose = failing grade on that assignment.
🔄
Policy Evolves
This policy changes as AI platforms change. Updates will come through official school channels. The tech team welcomes faculty input as we refine our approach.
"Teaching students how to think,
not what to think."
SRDS Motto — the foundation of our approach to AI
