Every classroom has a BenQ board. Here's everything you need to use it confidently.
Press the power button on the lower-right of the board or use the remote. Always power down at the end of the day — hold the power button or use the remote's off button. The board will prompt you to confirm shut down.
Each teacher receives a personal BenQ NFC card. Tap it to the reader on the board to instantly load your saved profile, preferences, and apps. Keep this card with you — don't leave it in the room.
- Plug the ClickShare dongle into a USB-A port on your laptop
- Launch the ClickShare app (or it may launch automatically)
- Click the button on the dongle — your screen mirrors instantly
- To stop sharing, click the dongle button again or unplug
If the dongle doesn't work, try the ClickShare desktop app from clickshare.barco.com
Find the HDMI cable at the board's connection panel (usually lower left side). Plug into your laptop — use a dongle adapter if your laptop has USB-C only. Switch the board's input to HDMI if it doesn't detect automatically.
The BenQ board supports multi-touch directly with your finger. Use the built-in stylus pen (stored in the board's pen tray) for finer annotation. The board's EZWrite app lets you write, draw, and annotate over any content. Annotations can be saved and shared with students.
BenQ boards have a built-in Shared Space cloud feature. Students can contribute to the board from their devices in real time. Great for brainstorming, collaborative note-taking, and group work. Ask Jeremy Orr for a walkthrough of this feature.
BenQ boards run Android and have a curated set of educational apps pre-installed. You can also cast from your device using the ClickShare app. Contact Jeremy Orr to request additional apps for your board.
Every classroom is equipped with a Zoom Phone for internal and external calls. Your extension will be provided during orientation.
- Log into the Zoom app on your computer or use the physical Zoom Phone device in your room
- Dial internal extensions directly, or search the Zoom directory to find colleagues
- For emergencies or admin needs, dial the main office extension
- Voicemail transcripts are delivered automatically to your SRDS email
Contact Myron Toltsis at mtoltsis@saddleriverday.org for extension or setup issues.
Multifunction printers across campus. Here's where to find them and how to use them.
- Send your print job from your computer as usual
- Select the appropriate SRDS printer from your list
- Go to the MFP — your job will be in the queue
- Tap your name on the touchscreen to release and print
First time? Ask anyone on the tech team to install the correct print drivers on your laptop.
For sensitive documents, use the Secure Print feature. Your job is held in the queue until you physically authenticate at the printer — so no one else can pick up your documents. Select "Secure Print" in the print dialog and set a PIN.
- Place your document on the glass or use the document feeder
- Tap Scan on the touchscreen
- Select Scan to Email — enter your SRDS email address
- Choose resolution and color settings
- Press Start — the scan arrives in your inbox within minutes

The Schoology gradebook syncs with PowerSchool automatically. Enter grades directly in Schoology — they push to PowerSchool for report cards. Set your grading categories (classwork, homework, assessments, etc.) at the start of the year.
Use Announcements to push updates to all students in a course. Use Messages for direct communication with students and parents. Parents have real-time visibility into assignments and grades.
Attendance, student records, and report card comments all live here.
- Log into PowerSchool Teacher portal (link in your email)
- Click on your class period
- Mark any absences or tardies at the start of class
- Submit — this is time-sensitive, do it within the first 10 minutes
- If you miss the window, contact the main office to correct the record
Comments are entered in PowerSchool at the end of each marking period. The registrar sends reminders with the comment window open/close dates. Make sure your Schoology gradebook is current before the window opens so grades sync correctly.
PowerSchool contains student contact info, schedule, emergency contacts, and historical records. Access this for legitimate educational purposes only, in accordance with FERPA guidelines.
